The Concept of SurgeryOne

The Practice in London

Surgery One´s concept is as simple as it is efficient: aiming to facilitate access to high quality treatment and advice by booking you in with or recommending you to highly specialised senior surgeons who are for many years working in their field of expertise. What we try and do is giving a few hand selected surgeons more market visibility by bundling their market power but without influencing them or putting pressure in any way. We might take over some of the organising and paper work if the surgeon asks us to, but not more than this, the whole medical side of things is in the hand of the surgeon and the surgeon's practice/hospital/medically trained staff.

The surgeon/practitioner has the responsibility for what he does and says, and consequently has to do the talking and to give his advice and treatment the way he sees fit. Consequently, Surgery One has only highly qualified staff, which doesn't do hard sales for ethical reason. Once a patient is put in contact with a specific surgeon, the patient and his surgeon do whatever they want to do, we are not involved in this process.

Operating at competitive rates in expensive London environment is a difficult task. However, if you cut out the middle man, cut overheads, don’t spend too much money on advertising but rather grow by word of mouth, it can be done.

Our business is based on word of mouth and is only possible, if you – the patient - are happy enough to recommend us further. If you are pushed to something beyond your own wishes, you are not likely to be satisfied later on. Also, doing a good job does not only make the patient happy, but also all staff members involved. This too is important.

The Consultation

The consultation is meant to answer all your questions and establish your needs or best options, and is not binding in any way to go further. The cosmetic surgery / treatment consultation should shed light on the confusing and often wrong information distributed via the media, and educate you to have a realistic view.

Listen carefully to your surgeon’s advice on what seems doable and what seems not, also follow his/her post operative instructions. Only because some patients got away with not following postoperative instructions, or by changing them according to their own ideas, does not mean it would work for you as well. Tiny differences in technique have important implications on the healing process (many surgeons use different techniques) and this is where you can contribute towards having a good result by taking the postoperative advice seriously.
